Tandems OffRoad at Minnewaska-Mohonk: Oct 31, November 1-2, 2008
Two days of riding unpaved dual track at Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Mountain Preserve just west of New Paltz, NY. Suitable for offroad tandems or cyclocross road tires. Maps will be provided and expect to break into informal groups according to ability and speed. This is one of the prettiest areas we've ever ridden. Cliffs and views.
Date: Oct 31, November 1-2, 2008
Time: 9AM (leave Lodge for the ride start)
Start Location: Minnewaska Lodge, Gardiner, NY (www.minnewaskalodge.com)

Ride Distance: 15-30 miles per day with multiple loops available
Terrain: Approximately 80 miles of unpaved carriage trails on the Shawangunk Mountains between 1000-2200' elevation. Some short steep grades, low gears recommended but few extended hills. Very good for the beginning off-road team, nothing technical.
Driving Directions: North on NY Thruway to New Paltz exit 18, west on 299 thought New Paltz to Route 55.
Food: Breakfasts at the lodge. We will pick up lunches in New Paltz in the morning, or BYO. Dinners at local restaurants.
